The Institute of Management Consultancy
 http://www.imc.co.uk
The Institute of Management Consultancy promotes
excellence in consulting to management by supporting, qualifying, and
regulating individual management consultants. Membership of the Institute
affords many benefits – not least the opportunity of peer support
and the ability to display an independent endorsement of your skills. Founded in 1962, the Institute is a member of the International Council
of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI), which comprises 39 member
bodies. We have both individual members and 24 Certified Practices.
They award the CMC® which is the only career qualification for
practising consultants. It is portable and recognised in all the countries
that belong to the ICMCI. The CMC is the best independent assessment
of consulting competence and the Institute is the only awarding body
for this qualification.

The Institute of Directors
http://www.iod.com
As a worldwide association of members, the Institute of Directors
(IoD) provides a network that reaches into every corner of the business
community.
Membership spans the whole spectrum of business leadership, from the
largest public companies to the smallest private firms. Membership
of the IoD is individual – each member joins the IoD in his or
her capacity as a director.
Members receive a variety of benefits including information, advice,
training, conferences and publications to help them maximise their
potential. They also have an influential organisation on their side – representing
their concerns to government – and at their side – providing
professional business support, wherever it is needed.
All members have access to facilities in the heart of London and
across the UK in the following cities: Edinburgh, Nottingham,
Manchester,
Birmingham, Belfast and Bristol.
The Professional Standards department works with directors, government
departments, academics and the media to raise standards of professionalism
in the direction of companies and other organisations throughout
the United Kingdom. The IoD publish books and articles, and
contribute to government policy.
